At least twice I remember hitting a squirrel. Uh - - Two different events, not the same squirrel hit twice.

It would be quite the accomplishment if you Did hit the same squirrel twice.  Big winks and smiles!

The ditches are filled with my roadkill! Back in the 70s, I hit a dog with my motorcycle. I nearly came off the machine!  I turned around and the dog lay there with blood flowing out of his neck, tail wagging, but the glassy, blank stare that indicated death.

That's sad. But you wrote it so well I can easily picture the entire incident.
    (Glad you're OK.)

A deer, squirrel, bird....not all at the same time of course.
Our cat was under the hood once when starting the engine. It lived but the vet bill was expensive. Cost us about $500. This post was edited by my2cents at September 4, 2018 6:17 PM MDT

That happened to mother's cat too. The vet had to wire the cat's jaw because it was broken. The cat survived and lived for years.

Ours had 2 broken legs and stitches on its inner and outer thighs. We had to pack the wounds with sugar to fight infection. He also lived several years afterwards.

Most all English made cars rely on Horse Power under the hood...What ever happened to the great old American muscle cars...?

There are more Tigers in kept in people's apartments in America than there are in the wild ....you can't start  putting them in your cars now for gods sake....You'll have Jaguars next Roaring down your roads ....Not to mention Cobras and Vipers slivering all over your freeways ....

Yep.  I was doing 60 mph when I plowed into a large deer.  My truck came to a stop, but the deer (at least what was left of it) flew another 50 or so yards up the freeway.  Deer parts covered what has been my grill.  Luckily, I struck the deer square on the front frame brace, so damage to my truck was minimal.
